Gold Coast vs Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino : Vegas Battle Royale

Las Vegas Off Strip

Blow by blow:

Great place to play BJ and Craps. Pai Gow isn’t bad especially if you just want to relax and get a few free beverages.

Cheap AM poker tourny. Great slots! Steak and beer deal is super!

An easy walk from thr Rio for cheap craps. A bit dated (although I hear that there are renovations in the works. ), but a very friendly place.

Say what you will about the old Gold Coast. But it’s tough to find a more fun mid-day mid-week craps game and above-average VP. In general, it’s an older, more sedate crowd with an older, Online bitcoin casino real money georgia more sedate staff. But if you need a fun casino afternoon away from the big places, it’s a good choice.

I like the Gold Coast. When I stay at the Rio and the limits get out of hand, I know I can stumble across the street and get $5 Craps and Blackjack all day long. When I want the amenities of a Strip casino, all I have to do is head back over to the Rio or Plams across the street.

I have stayed at The RIO Suites countless time’s..So, the walk across the street to Gold Coast was made just as many time’s..The place is Huge..Lot’s of Local’s..Lower Limit’s..The Poker room is a fun spot to hangout..Food Choice’s suck. I just like the place for seem reason..

Old School craps games and always a hoot there especially during the NFR..

Solid value proposition.

Small, but well thought-out rooms just off strip. Cheap, but good food. Friendly staff.

Heck, the artwork in the rooms is exactly the same as the artwork in standard Aria rooms.

Another good place to chuck dice and play cards on the high min Fri/Sat nights. If we’re not at the Cal, we’re here in the same state of drunkeness. and probably getting worse. At least we haven’t been thrown out of this place yet. Only draw back is it can be tuff to get a cab back to Planet HO-Ho at 2am

Stayed here for three nights with two of them being comped and was given food credit and slot credits as part of the offer. I’ve played here several times in the past and had a either a great run or an ice block of a table. My first stay here was neither grand or crappy. The bed was comfortable, but the doors and wall to the hallway are thin. To top it off, there was no in-room safe (boooo). The food choices were alright at best. I’d rather stay at The Orleans.

I will say the cocktail waitress that serves the table games during graveyard was the best! She always had a drink for me everytime she came around. Even when she was taking orders. I forgot her name but she’s from Hawaii.

Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino

Las Vegas Off Strip

Blow by blow:

I love the Rio. The rooms are HUGE. and wheel of fortune viewer game the room prices are pretty cheap most of the time. The pool is on par with any in Las Vegas. The Show in the Sky is great with all the scantily clad ladies and the drink service is great also. Love the Wine Cellar.

We usually stay at Rio when we go. It is nice being off the hustle and bustle of the strip and the dealers are great! Not to mention it is a short (and free) bus ride to Harrahs. and then there you are in the middle of the strip.

Fun Fun Fun! What can you say bad about Mardi Gras? And don’t forget the Voodoo Lounge. Fantastic! At least the former Voodoo lunge was great.

I loved the Rio especially the suites. I am the type of person that loves space even though I always go to Vegas alone. The casino was cool also , they had a few of my favorite games.

I like the casino, the rooms are nice and roomy and coctail service is fair as well.

Rooms were big. I like that! There were a couple of male cocktail servers in the casino (I guess Harrah’s is being EOE). Drink service sucked on all shifts except swing. I also went to Ghost Bar and ran into a DJ I know from Hawaii. The food, hmmm I know I tried the seafood buffet and Double u down casino free slots ate nine clusters of snow crab. Ate at the Carnival World Buffet. It was worth the comp! I will definitely stay here again. Saw Penn and Teller too.

Neat! Home of the WSOP what else can you say.

I will be staying at the Rio my 3rd time this September. You can’t beat it on a hoilday weekend. The pool is just crowded enough, but not so crowded you can’t get a chair. The view from the Voodoo is the best in Vegas, and with the free shuttles every half hour to Caesar’s, Bally’s/Paris/,

I haven’t stayed there, so this rating is for the buffet, the dealers (even though 1 deck black jack killed me) and because Penn

Great rooms, Voodoo best view bar! Great pool, awesome buffet’s

Go see Penn & Teller, awesome show!

Even though it is off the track and some of the rooms are dated they are very nice and No deposit bonus codes for magic red casino very confortable. Three star

The Rio is a new fav of mine and I’m givin her a 4. The Casino and pool have a very good vibe. Stayed in a Masquerade suite- kinda dated- ala 1997 but still awesome. Voodoo is my new favorite steakhouse with awesome views of the strip. If Caesars invests in renovating the public areas- outside- casino- pool- rooms etc. the Rio would be hands down the best off strip joint.

Human-sized casino. Sweetest cocktail girls ever. Secret location for best perspective on fireworks.

Stayed once, in the Big Kahuna Suite, with my friend the High Roller. That rocked.Nothing else about this place does, though. I may try the new ibar when I come out in Vegas.

Didnt stay but really nice a roomy inside. Loved the high ceilings and open ares.

the tables are lucky, the buffet is massive, and penn and teller play there. a recent 6-night stay for $100 made me a huge proponent of the hotel and pool. though the 6-5 blackjack and tight slots will keep me from playing there ever again.

Sincerely the biggest regret of my life right here: passing up on the chance to see Prince get greasy at his briefly open 3130. And i got’s regret yo, so that’s sayin’ somethin’.

All Suite Hotel.

One night at this place changed the last 2+ years of my life.

Thats my attachment to this place..

I’ve stayed at the Rio several times. The Rio is slowing going downhill. Rooms are big, but are beginning to show their age. Voodoo lounge was fun before they went the way of the bottle service required to sit down. Masquerade show is still fun and the bevertainers are still fun to watch. They have a wide variety of restaurants. I’ve been to most of them and they are all pretty good, although, I’m not much of a buffet fan for anything except breakfast. Favorite restaurants are Buzios and Morterano’s. RUB wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. We saw Penn and Casino oasis of the seas Teller. I loved it. Mrs. Fox fell asleep. Have had great luck in the casino, but not any more. Table minimums have gotten too high. They took out most of the slots we liked and they ones that are left don’t pay like they used to pay. They also ruined the pool by making their best pool into a stripper pool with a daily cover charge. All in all, no longer worth the inconvenience of an off-strip location IMO.

Wife booked the trip on the advise of an AMEX travel advisor (had to use the points up). let’s say this for the Rio. nice size room, GREAT buffet..pool decent, when we went there were WAY too many kids around. ZERO nightlife at this place.

When I was a little one making the trek to see Grandma in Summerlin, she’d sometimes like to take us here to show us “how the locals have fun”. And WOW, this was fun back in its day! But now? The great restaurants are gone. The “suites” are looking drabby. (In fact, the TV in my “suite” didn’t even work properly.) It’s just a sad state of affairs, and it will be interesting to see if Harrah’s actually sells it to someone interested in reviving Poor Lil’ Rio.

(Feb 2010) Every Vegas newbie should make the trip to see the Carnival show in the casino. Beyond that, the Rio has nice big rooms with a fridge, but the casino is loaded with tired old slots, and table minimums are surprisingly high for a now mediocre off strip casino, and there aren’t enough places to grab good cheap eats.

I used to love the Rio. But not anymore. The slots are really old, pay lousy, and the rooms are past their prime. And there are surprisingly high table game minimums for a second rate off strip casino.

Navigation and Gameplay

Once you’ve completed the software installation and new account registration you’ll see the casino lobby. The main grey navigation bar shows you the games categories available to play:

  • Slots
  • Table Games
  • Video Poker
  • Specialty

The green Cashier button is where you deposit & withdraw money and enter promo codes. The icons above the cashier buttons are links to Customer Support, Promotions, Messages and your User Account menu.

The Slots menu shows the games organized into different categories by game type.

  • Floating Symbols
  • Video Slots
  • 6 Reel
  • 5 Reel
  • 3 Reel slots
  • Bonus Round
  • Progressives

Sevens & Stripes is a classic 3-reel slot game that retains the look and feel of the shiny old-school machines. My only gripe is that the pull lever doesn’t work!

5 Wishes is a new 5-reel slot game that’s being promoted with promo code 300WISHES so I gave that game a try.

Table Games

When you click on the Table Games menu you’ll see two categories of games available to play:

  • Carribean
  • 21 Games

There were no Caribbean games available to play and Baccarat, Pai Gow Poker and War were not eligible to play using the 50NDB bonus money so they were disabled and unavailable to play.

Note that all of the 21 games in the Table Games menu are video games, not live dealer games. Raging Bull Casino doesn’t offer live dealer games in their casino software.

Video Poker

The Video Poker menu is similarly organized by the number of hands played that can be played by round:

  • 1 Hand
  • 3 Hands
  • 10 Hands
  • 52 Hands
  • 100 Hands

I like how the single hand video poker games look like old school video poker machines. I always have to play some of these games.

You can see that the game is very simple but the odds are not good. Clicking no to skip the double-or-nothing game every time I win a hand kinda ruins the flow of the game for me.

Sevens Wild offers multiple hands. This is a 52 hand round. Not all of the video poker games offer multiple hands.

And just for fun, this is what a 100 hand video poker round looks like for Deuces Wild.

The following are the games in the Specialty menu. These are games that don’t fall into slots or card game categories.

  • Table Games
  • Scratch Cards
  • Keno & Bingo
  • Board Games
  • Shooting Games

Note that not all Specialty games are eligible to be played using bonus money. Ineligible games are locked as shown.

You’ll see in the Terms and Conditions that Keno is the second-most eligible game to play with bonus money after slots. Keno is a simple game where you pick number squares on a game board. If the numbers on your board match the numbers drawn by the casino then you win depending on the number of matches.

Scratch Cards mimic the lotto scratch card experience. They have different scratch card games that can be played. This is 5 Diamond Blackjack. Winning this game happens when the uncovered “hand” beats the dealer hand.

Settings and Menus

The Customer Support button loads a chat window in the software. You have the option to pop the chat window out if you want to keep playing while you chat with your customer support agent.

The Promotion button didn’t display any of the active promotions at Raging Bull. I reported this to Customer Support as shown above.
